Hi there, my name's Paul Fabretti and I am running an internet-based social experiment and I need your help (but there is something in it for you too!!)

The power of the internet as we know it is proven, but the power of what they call Web 2.0 (Google it!) is not. The new internet is all about communities, trust and people-power which is what this blog is ALL about!

Using all the tools that the Web 2.0 provides (blogs, MSN Spaces, Yahoo 360, myspace.com, forums, email and wikis and any others I have forgotten!) I want to see just how far we can swap this small black stapler for! I hope that together, we can find the best and most trustworthy ways we can all trade and communicate in a way and spirit that really makes the most of the new internet.

Who knows where it will take us? But that's the fun of the experiment. Tell your friends, tell your family, tell your teachers, tell their friends, tell strangers and let's see just how popular we can make this.

Don't forget either, that when we draw this to an end on December 23rd 2006 (my son's birthday - what better date?!) I will auction on eBay whatever item I end up with and EVERYONE who I have traded with will get a share!

Simply email me your offers to:

and...get communicating!

Remember Celebdaq?

Does anyone remember playing Celebdaq?!

How many of you spent your lunchtimes (then the whole afternoon!) gambling on the highs and lows of being a celebrity?

With so many trashy celebs out there, maybe it is time to rekindle our love of the great game and waste many more hours playing!

Ok, we have our first formal offer!!

Yippee! We have a formal offer of a swap !!

Jill from Torquay has offered me a scroll mouse:

She reckons that some "tosser" in her office has stolen her stapler, so hopefully this one will come in handy!

It is apparently new (well looks it anyway!) so I may accept...unless you have somethign else you want to trade it for?

Let me know!

The Eiffel Tower

So, Jean from France offered me the ABOVE! Je te remercie, mais mon jardin est trop petit!

Now, it is a lovely gesture, but my house simply will not take something of this size!

What would YOU swap that the stapler for?

Have a think and let me at the email opposite!

Paul

And one other thing

As the blog becomes more and more popular, I will begin to add other items that have been offered but that I have not accepted.

I will post only the best items for you to look at and enable you to get in touch with the person offering the item you want!

This means that even if you don't want the main item I'm offering to swap, there may be something else you like!

Make sure you have a picture too - if its worth swapping, it's worth taking a good shot!

Get what you want get rid of what you don't

So, here we go:

The first item to swap:

A wonderfully useful black stapler with about 60 staples in (although they are split in 2 sections)

Now, I don't know what I want to swap it for, and that is the fun!

Make me an offer!

What do you have that you don't want in exchange for this
REALLY useful stapler?

Simply email me with your offers (and a picture where possible) to the email address on the side and I will let you know!

I will update regularly with a list of items that have been offered for swap and depending on the amount of suggestions that get sent in, I will post a decision every week.

Then the fun starts all over again with the item I have just swapped.

Maybe we will even reach a car by the end of the year!

Just like eBay, upon receipt of your item to my address, I will despatch the stapler (and ALL the spare staples I can find!). All arrangements will be done via email.

IMPORTANT: Exchanges and offers for exchange will be done in TOTAL CONFIDENCE and none of your personal details will be revealed during the exchange. You can swap in total confidence that you will remain totally anonymous (unless you want the fame!)

oneredpaperclip - WOT YOU GOT - what's it all about

We all use the internet for various reasons. Donwloading music, chatting with friends, making friends and byuing stuff.

The new generation of sites like www.myspace.com and www.flickr.com are all designed to bring us together.

Community spirit will be the way forward so, on this theme, why not bring oursleves together to help each other?

eBay is great, we can get what we want fairly cheap, but the downside is, we often have to sell something we already have to pay for something we want.

Wouldn't it be great it we could get something we want in exhchange for someting we DON'T WANT!

It's like eBay but without the cost!

There are hunderds of thousands of people out there who want what you don't - but you don't know where they are!

Well, this blog aims to bring those people together!
